Dongxiang language is a minority language mainly used in Linxia, Gansu and other areas. In history, the writing of Dongxiang language used the Arabic alphabet system to meet the needs of religion and daily records. However, since the 1980s, with the support and promotion of the local government, Dongxiang language has gradually switched to a spelling system based on the internationally recognized 26 Latin letters. This reform has made Dongxiang language more standardized and convenient in writing and dissemination.
At present, a bilingual dictionary of Chinese Dongxiang language has been published. And there are related books that include some sorted bilingual example sentences, providing practical reference tools for learning and communication. At the same time, the compilation of Dongxiang language textbooks has also entered the trial stage, laying the foundation for a more systematic and standardized Dongxiang language education in the future.
